Mitsubishi i-MiEV

Mitsubishi-i-MiEV

The new i-MiEV electric car from Mitsubishi looks more compromise: in size, equipment, materials, finishes. Small dimensions dictate the requirements for landing – a driver and three passengers sitting “in the bus” vertically. The trunk is symbolic, hardly fits here something more than shopping bags from the supermarket. In short, a typical representative of the family city vehicle.

But despite its size, i-MiEV is quite fulfilling. In city traffic, he is almost twice as powerful as Nissan Leaf (67 hp vs. 109 hp), at least at speeds up to 70 km/h. Affects less weight and setting a pair of motor-reducer.

Mitsubishi i MiEV interior

Not inferior i-MiEV and other urban disciplines. The hood is “kozyrekobrazny” (motor and most of the elektronachinki located in the rear) – a big plus for visibility and ease of parking. As part of the “insinuations” all too well: the width of cars less than five feet, and the turning radius of 4.5 meters. But the suspension is to recognize moderately comfortable. Storm battered tram crossings is safe, but at the same time will shake noticeably than in the Leaf.

The automaker claim the maximum mileage of 150 km per charge. However, as in other cases, it is strongly dependent on many factors, primarily – conditioner mode, the outdoor temperature and the driving style. These factors may reduce the reserve of two or even two and a half times. As our two-week test in a “prolonged winter” (up to -15 degrees), a “gas station” in the middle enough for 80-90 km. At the same time, charging from a household power outlet and i-MiEV, and Leaf about the same – 7-8 hours.
