BMW Active Tourer plug-in Hybrid concept
BMW announced that they will unveil the new Active Tourer plug-in Hybrid concept at this years New York International Auto Show, which starts on 27 March 2013 and will host a number of new hybrid and electric vehicles from major car manufacturers.
The new Active Tourer Hybrid concept from BMW will feature a 1.5 litre three-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor, which will combine to return an average mpg figure of 95. After a full charge, the plug-in hybrid will be able to travel for 18.6 miles on electric power alone, whilst producing zero tailpipe emissions.
The new concept car will also offer a number of innovative and high-tech features, such as a composite glass roof with suspended particle device technology. This cool feature will allow the driver to be able to switch between making the roof either crystal clear or dark and tinted at the switch of a button.
BMW has not revealed much about their new offering, so you will have to wait until the full unveiling at the show in a few weeks.
