Mitsubishi CA-MiEV and GR-HEV Concepts Photos
Take a look at the first official photos with Mitsubishi’s concept cars from bound for 2013 Geneva Motor Show debut this week. Both vehicles make use of electric drive: the CA-MiEV being a pure electric vehicle and the GR-HEV using a diesel-electric powertrain.
The Mitsubishi CA-MiEV concept sees this car as a preview for a next generation electric vehicle packing high-energy density batteries and a high-efficiency system. Some of its highlights include an entirely new electric motor, inverter, as well as wireless charging system and support for regenerative braking. With the batteries completely charged, the CA-MiEV concept can provide a range of 186 miles (300 km) thanks to a lightweight and aerodynamic body.
The GR-HEV is envisioned as a sport utility truck powered by a diesel-hybrid setup. The conventional engine sits at the front and sends the horsepower to a new type of four-wheel drive system with Super Select 4WD (available in the Pajero) and Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) aimed at providing superior traction regardless of the road conditions. The Japanese firm mentions the GR-HEV has CO2 emissions of under 149 g/km.
We will have more detailed info and lots of live photos of both Mitsubishi concept cars as the Geneva Motor Show rolls along this week.
