Gli Stati Uniti d'automobili Detroit Electric ha rilasciato un set di foto ufficiali della sua nuova auto elettrica sportiva 2013 Detroit Electric SP:01, che ha il suo debutto al 2013 Shanghai Motor Show.

As expected, the Lotus Exige was used as the base for this electric two-seater sports vehicle, and it has a centrally located electric motor with 201HP and 225 Nm. With a single charge lithium-polymer battery (37 kWh), that can take up to 4.3 hours to fully charge, il 2013 Detroit Electric SP:01 has a range of 306 km.

This 1067-pound car (thanks to the use of carbon fiber) with rear-wheel drive can reach 100 km/h in just 3.7 secondo, and its top speed is around 249 kmh.

Production will begin in August 2013 at its plant in Wayne Country, Michigan, and it should be finished by the end of 2014. L'impianto dedicato avrà una capacità annua di 2500 veicoli e creare più di 180 produzione e vendita relativi posti di lavoro per il prossimo anno.

Customers will be able to choose from among three design alloy wheels (175/55R16 and 225/45R17 tires) and seven exterior colors (one is Electric Blue, on the pictures), for about 135.000 US dollars.
