The Chevrolet Spark EV is probably one of the best electric cars available, but it was only available on the US market. No it appears that all-new 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV will will be also available in Europe. Europeans will also be able to enjoy the hard work that GM invested in this vehicle, which is expected to be presented at 2013 Geneva Motor Show during the next month.

There is a good question about the number of units that this company can sell but they will deliver all the things that you need in an vehicle. Electric motor of about 100 kW or 136 hp will be in this car making it more powerful and faster than the standard version equipped with gasoline unit. This vehicle also develops fantastic 544 NM or 400 pounds feet of torque which is more than a decent number of supercars.

Acceleration will not be like we are driving a supercar but sprint from 0 to 100 km/h will be done in about 8.5 seconds which is a decent result. Compared to Nissan Leaf electric car this is much better. With lower center of gravity this is a pretty good car when it comes to driving.

At this moment we still do not have all the information’s about the price and the availability but we expect to see it this year since it will come to the U.S. showrooms later this year. Price of this car in the U.S. market is set to 32 500 $ and we are getting about 7 500 $ in federal tax credit that lowers the price to about 25 000 $. On this price there are owners that have also received local incentives that additionally lower the price of this vehicle.

There are few competitors to the 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV and one of those that will most affect the sale numbers is the Renault Zoe that will be delivered to the market soon. Among other competitors this vehicle will have to be better than third-generation Smart Electric Drive with its low entry price, the Mitsubishi i-MiEV and Nissan Leaf, though none directly compete with the Chevy on size or specification.
